The Governing body of a school is the group of people drawn from various parts of the community who are ultimately responsible for the successful running of the school. They work as a group, never as individuals. The Governors main focus is to ensure that the children attending the school receive the best possible quality of education. Their other responsibilities, such as maintaining the buildings, school security, finances and management of staff, all need to be managed so as to encourage learning. The Full Governing Body have at least one meeting a term, and the committees, made of smaller groups of Governors, meet as and when required. Bursledon (C of E) Infant and Junior Schools now have a federated governing body comprising the following governors:
The Clerk to the Governors is Mrs H Pickles The Chair of the Governors is Hilary Bax. The Deputy Chair is June Powell. They can be contacted through the school.
